Rick Donahoe, Deb Donahoe
Rick Donahoe and wife Deb - Richland residents for 25 years

About me

I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Deb for 46 years. We have four grown children that are all married and we have seven grandkids ages 3-11.

My family joined the Richland community 25 years ago when we transferred here for my job in engineering management with Bechtel at the Hanford Site. My wife was a teacher and librarian for over 10 years at Jefferson Elementary, Hanford Middle School, and Enterprise Middle School.

I have been on the school board for the last nine years. During that time there has been significant growth of over 2,600 students (23%) in the district. I have been involved in the planning, financing, design, and construction of seven new schools.

When I first was selected to serve on the school board in 2009, I wanted to learn more. I went to WSU-TC to get a graduate degree in Education Leadership with a focus on Special Education. I also served as an intern in the district’s Special Education department and obtained my Administrative Credential from OSPI.

During school board meetings I solicit input from parents, teachers, students, and the public. I have no personal agendas. My focus is on student learning and achievement.

I want to continue serving you. I am asking for your vote in the general election.

Master’s Degree in Management - I have over 33 years of experience in engineering and project management, 20 years in Richland at the Hanford site. I've managed budgets >$300M.

Grant Director and CEO of the International Children’s Reading Foundation (5 years) - I worked in over 60 school districts in 23 states. Managed two large literacy grants for the U.S. Department of Education.
